About William J. Durkin Productions William J. Durkin has spent most of his adult life on stage. Since 1977, he has performed live, on stage, over 10,000 times. A founding member, and eventual owner of the "Lilliput Players Educational Theatre", and the "L.P. Repertory Company", he has performed at hundreds of venues in California and Hawaii. From 1995 to 3008 he performed the roles of King and Chancellor at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Southern California. In 1999, he wrote and directed "Young El Cid" for Medieval Times. Altogether, he has participated in over thirty professional productions, not only performing more than 10,000 times, but also acting as producer, director, and set, sound, and lighting designer. In 1985, he co-wrote the music for a soft-rock musical on water conservation. "The H20 Show", sponsored by the Municipal Water District of Southern California, toured for five years. In 1991, Bill produced and directed a beautiful outdoor production of Rogers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" at the Waiohai Beach Resort on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. This is the same island on which the 1958 movie production of "South Pacific" was filmed. In addition to being producer/director/set designer/lighting designer, he also played the part of Billis. This production ran for nearly a year, until a little hurricane named Iniki brought down the final curtain. In 2004, he adapted six episodes of the classic 1950's radio drama, "Nightbeat", to a television format. Early in 2004 these adaptations were performed live at the Gem Theatre in Garden Grove, California. When not creating onstage, Bill creates on paper. These poems, short stories, songs, and scripts will be made available in the coming months. Along with his own projects, William J. Durkin Productions will also be highlighting such outstanding talents as clay artist/crafter Kathy Lett. Visit us often to see what new imaginings have arrived.
