The Layers of Design

Valerie is a self-taught Flash artist who specializes in artwork ranging from elegant graphic designs for cards to colorful fun images to modern mandalas. She has a passion to create things that will bring a smile to the faces of others. Some useful information for customising and ordering designs you'll find in this shop: Want a background or border color other than what is provided? A number of the items in this shop allow you to choose a background color of your own, such as the ties. For these items, just click the Customize link and then click the Colors drop-down on the top right of the customization box to choose from a wide range of colors, or enter your own color in hex code at the bottom. Don't like the shirt that the image is featured on? It's easy to change to a shirt style that better suits your tastes. Just click the "Select a different shirt style" link in the description box to the right of the image to search through a wide variety of shirt styles and colors. Because each design has been optimized with a version that looks best on dark shirts and one for light shirts, make sure to choose the light or dark shirt option before clicking to change the style. This will help you find the style you want in the color you want much more easily. Wondering what a mandala is? Mandalas originate within the Hindu and Buddhist traditions and art, and generally featured multiple layers of symbolic design. The inner layers traditionally held more significance than the outer layers, and in certain groups were painted using less lasting materials (such as sand).
