I was raised with conservative ideals, but I drifted away from them in my early 20's and then chose them again, for myself, as I grew, matured, and realized the world wasn't what I thought it was. Today I see a political landscape that is both frightening and full of hope--frighting because of the socialist and Marxist ideals that keep creeping in, year after year, inflating government power while deflating the power of the people; but full of hope because history shows the people of this nation love their freedom and are willing to fight for it.

This is the reason I created The Right Idea--our most valuable freedom is our right to free speech, which allows us not only to support our government when it's right, but to also voice our opposition when it's wrong. Men and women braver than me risk their lives every day to protect my freedom; this is my small contribution to that fight.

Those on the left side of the political spectrum certainly don't hesitate to exercise their right to free speech: shirts supporting socialist dictator Hugo Chavez, bumper stickers proclaiming, "My body, my right," and countless other liberal ideas abound. Ideas are very powerful things--it's up to us to take a stand for the right ideas, and make our voices heard over any number of wrong ones.
