Hi, I'm Kendall! For most of my adult life, I often found myself BUSY. In college, I had little to no spare time to relax. Then work life hit, and eventually I found myself teaching all day in a local elementary school, only to come home and spend a few hours in the evenings tutoring and babysitting to make ends meet. It was a LOT of hustle. And then I got married...and moved to the country...and for the first time, my calendar was VERY open, and I often found myself feeling a bit insecure about how much free time I had. I hadn't created my first online business yet, and I had a tutoring gig for just a few hours a week. I began to feel self-conscious answering questions about how I was spending my time. Granted, I was newly married, living in a new city, state, community, and family. So I knew I needed to be a bit gentle with myself in all the transitions going on. But I just couldn't shake the feeling that I was "supposed" to be busier. So, imagine my joy when I came across the term "slow living" while scrolling through Pinterest one day! I had never, ever heard the word "slow" used in a positive way. "Slow" can be a good thing? Yes. It can. In a culture where "hustle" is encouraged, and busyness is seen as proof of being valuable, you can now have fun being a little rebellious by looking into this slow living thing. My life is now a far cry from "go, go, go," and I'm loving it! I know that my worth is not based on busyness or productivity. I'm valuable and loved...and I just happen to have a slow schedule - full, but slow. So, take a look at this slow living thing. Take some time to think about what it would look like in your own life, and what would be okay to say "no" to in order to slow down and experience your own version of slow living.
