Sylvia was born on December 14th, 2015 with a combination of heart defects never before medically documented. While it was always going to be a challenging journey, doctors were optimistic they could give Sylvia a fairly normal life. At 7 months old, Sylvia went in for her second open-heart surgery, a major repair throughout most of her heart. The surgery was not successful and left her on life support for several months, waiting for a heart transplant which never came. In October 2016, Sylvia passed away in her parents’ arms and is now lighting up every corner of heaven. Her family and many who love her celebrate her the best way they know how—loving others. They are dedicated to honoring Sylvia’s legacy, advocating for Congenital Heart Disease patients, and supporting families who have lost children. Sylvia's Story now serves as the platform to do just that. All proceeds go toward funding CHD research and supporting parents and families who have had to say goodbye to a child.
