I have been creative for as long I can remember……..whether with a paintbrush, pencil, needle, sewing machine, woodworking tools, or food colouring when painting plaques to put on top birthday cakes. I made my career as a draughtswoman, until raising a family put all non-practical art activities on hold. I returned to painting around 5 years ago, and fell in love with watercolours, and apart from a few workshops am mainly self- taught, with the help of Books and DVD’s. Painting took a back seat for a while after I started to take my own reference photos, and rapidly became absorbed in photography. But my pencil and watercolour brush are now once again as busy as my camera..I am also exploring acrylics and pastels. My choices of subjects are as broad as my choice of media…..though Portraits are currently fascinating me and I hope soon to be accepting commissions. I will never stop exploring ways to express my creativity but Watercolour is definitely my first love. It’s so unpredictable, sometimes uncontrollable, which make for the excitement of it for me…....
