Megan is the creator, designer and stylist behind Southpaw Paperie. Despite tackling nearly all tasks right-handed, she writes and draws as a Southpaw -- the inspiration behind her company’s name. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Megan demonstrated a knack for creativity early on as she doodled her favorite cartoon characters on every scrap of paper she could find. When her family got its first computer, she primarily used it to draw in MS Paint (cringe, but everyone has to start somewhere!). During her teenage years, she spent her free time sketching portraits of her favorite bands that she would take to their concerts to have autographed. Though her interests and skills changed and developed over the years, her creativity was ever-present. Throughout childhood and adolescence, Megan was set on becoming a veterinarian (“Southpaw” also speaks to her love of animals, especially foxes!). However, everything changed when she discovered it was actually possible to design things for a living. At the eleventh hour of her college search, she decided to pursue design professionally, and enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where she studied Graphic Design and Marketing. After graduation, Megan accepted a design position at a Marketing Research firm. Though there are many aspects of corporate design that she still loves to this day, it also left her seeking a creative outlet of her very own. It wasn’t until she accomplished the task of crafting all of the personalized materials and gifts for her wedding that she discovered her deep-rooted passion for stationery design and event styling, and working directly with clients to help them bring their unique visions to life. Currently, Megan runs all aspects of Southpaw Paperie from design to content creation. Her mission is to craft personalized, premium and awe-inspiring event details that will be remembered and cherished for years to come.
