As a kid, I loved watercolors! And as a creative young adult, it didn't me too long to establish a meditative watercolor practice that brings me peace and joy. Today, I draw inspiration for my designs from the world around me, from the beautiful objects, people, pets, elements, and landscapes that surround me. When I started painting again as an adult, I began creating many hand-painted greeting cards and artwork that brought a lot of joy to the friends and loved ones I gave them to. People began encouraging me to sell my designs and print them on stationery and other items, so here I am today, launching this shop and hoping my paintings will bring you joy! All my designs are painted by me by hand, on my vintage desk in my Norfolk, Virginia apartment living room, while I am surrounded by my two cats, my dog, and my partner, and generally sipping tea (which I try not to confuse with the water that I use for my paintbrushes!). I draw my illustrations in pencil, line them with ink, and paint them with watercolors, but sometimes add details with markers, gel pens, or pencils. I mainly use my reliable Winsor and Newton watercolors, as well as the gorgeous Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese paints, but am always open to trying new paints!
