The Royal Order of Gumbo was created in 2020 in Mobile, AL and is dedicated to appreciation and preservation of the consummate dish of Greater Louisiana, Gumbo, in all its variations and manifestations with the understanding that the canon on gumbo is not closed. There are new discoveries to be had. This group seeks to make them and expand the vocabulary while still honoring the tradition.Mobile, AL is the birthplace of Mardi Gras, N'Awlins adopted it after us! TROoG had it's first parade in Mardi Gras when it joined the infamous Joe Cain parade the Sunday before Fat Tuesday. Word spread about us, and now we offer a variety of items as gifts, collections or just for your amusement.
