Hello I am Katie Nowak. I live in Southeast Wisconsin. PPS is named for my love of my eighties childhood. Childhood games were sorted by bubblegum bubblegum, one potato two, and rock paper scissors. I grew up when kids still had pen pals, wrote chain letters, and made chalk drawings in the streets. Days were spent unsupervised roaming the woods and drinking from garden hoses. Stickers were collected, highly prized, and saved for special occasions. Kids wrote letters and sent them through the mail. We knew the thrill of receiving a letter from a relative, friend, or hoping to win a sweepstake. When writing a letter, PS is a way to add more to your letter. It means post script and follows your signature. PPS was for kids and meant you still had more to share below your original PS. It wasn’t good form but we loved it anyway. Paint Paper Stickers is a play on words derived from post post script. PPS is named for my love of traditional media and paper products. I spent many hours creating cards and drawing pictures as a child. When drawing at my childhood desk I dreamt of becoming a greeting card and wrapping paper designer.
