Because we are alarmed by the prospects of a continuation of Bush/Cheney politics. Because a McCain Presidency would be a third term for George W. Bush! We support Barack Obama’s candidacy! 1) He is capable and then some. In fact, he is flat out brilliant, in stark contrast to George W. 2) Barack is committed to uniting our nation. The house that Lincoln saved once again stands on a shaky foundation, after years of strategies and code words designed and employed to create fear, appeal to suspect ideologies and divide our nation. It is time to put an end to "Red States and Blue States" - We are the United States! 3) Barack is as transparent a politician as the United States has seen in quite some time. He is qualified and competent. The past eight years have proven one need not be perfect to become President. America now deserves and needs a President who is honest, capable, and committed to serving all Americans. 4) The Presidency of the United States is not a business opportunity to be exploited by the resident of the White House! Barack is committed to serving America's citizens, not Exxon, Hallaburton or any other of America's corporate giants. 5) The Bush Administration has insulted our international partners and made enemies of those with whom we should be building constructive, cooperative relationships. W's arrogance and saber-rattling have not made the world safer. Barack will work to "turn the page" on this dark era. He has stated he will reach out to the global community, and restore respect for our nation by first offering respect to others.
