I am retired Federal Government and retired US Air Force. In 1954, I was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Topeka, Kansas. I joined the Air Force in 1975. When I was with the Air Force, I was stationed in Washington, DC for three years in the 1970's, and worked at Pentagon. I had other varied assignments in Colorado, New Mexico, Illinois, and Japan. I returned to the Washington area in 1984 and have lived there since. I crossed-over from active duty into the USAF Reserve in 1987, retiring in 1996. In the meantime, I continued working with the Federal Government until my retirement in 2006. While living in Topeka, I made frequent visits to my grandparent's home in Longton, Kansas. My grandfather, Rev. A.F. Anderson, was the pastor of the First Baptist Church from 1961-1970. Shortly after my grandfather's death in 1970, my grandmother, Mrs. Trella Anderson, moved to Independence, Kansas, where she lived until shortly before her death in 1994. I still have an attachment to Longton and southeast Kansas, and always enjoy the beautiful scenery and visiting with the nice people who live there.
