I have always had a deep passion for art and creative expression. As a young child I would spend hours drawing animals, obsessing over the details and how it should look. Whilst others watched TV or played computer games, I would avidly write and illustrate books about bats and other flying friends. Fast forward to 2002 and I graduated from university with a degree in Illustration and a desire to creatively express myself. This led me to working within Graphic Design, completing work for clients, developing my skills and managing a business. However, never wanting to become complacent, in 2009 I took on a new challenge and became a Graphics and Photography teacher. Whilst teaching I took great pleasure from sharing my passion with students, guiding them to improve their skills and nurturing their creative instincts. In the summer of 2018 I decided to go re-embrace my first love for illustration and have returned to creating artwork full time. I use pencils and pens to form the fine details, then embelish with loose ink and watercolour washes. This allows me to capture the essence of the subject through the delicate lines, whilst expressing the freedom of the wild with the splattering of colour. Commisions welcome.
