I'm an artist. It's a complete sentence, I remind myself often. I paint, draw, doodle, crochet, knit, write, sculpt, and basically try to translate my brain into things I like, in whatever medium I can use to get it out of my head. I've been a creator my entire life, switching mediums in the moment, trying new things and sharing whatever I create. I look forward to more people enjoying my work. You'll rarely find continuity in any subject matter besides whatever hyperfocus I'm currently in. I am currently working on more Witchy-Poo character paintings of her and her cat, Daerian. My Auntie had a stuffed witch that she always kept with her before she passed away a few years ago. She called her Witchy-Poo and took her everywhere with her. When I was inspired to start this series, I knew instantly that Witchy-Poo was her name and that my Auntie would have proudly had these paintings hung on her wall. I create whatever strikes my fancy, and get struck by inspiration at the most random times. I've had lines of poetry come to me when I have no pen and paper handy, so I've been known to scribble on car windows with eyeliner so I didn't forget it (ok, fine, that happened more often when I was a teenager back in the days before cell phone note apps and camera capabilities). When I have an image stuck in my head, I have dreams about it until I get it onto paper or canvas. I freehand all of my artwork, and can't reproduce drawings to save my life, so I appreciate being here to share my designs with a larger audience. I may also occasionally share designs by my tiny human, who apparently got the crafty genes, too! She enjoys abstract art and currently contributes hand made glass and stone bracelets to our craft booths. We do a lot of craft fairs and farmer's markets where we sell our products and original works made by 4 generations. My mom makes hand made greeting cards, decoupage journals and handmade jewelry. My grandma crochets scarves, blankets and doll clothes.
