Gee's Bend Alabama, part of the Black Belt Region in Wilcox County.settled on a block of land, enclosed on three sides by the massive "bend" in the Alabama River.Isolated and owned by slaves in the 1800s. We worked the fields, fished and hunted for survival. But to survive the winter months my ancestors quilted. Each quilt done from the labor of the heart and the head, no patterns were used which make them unique today and they were all hand quilted using any type material they could find to put into a quilt. The images on the products are from the Quilts and other hand quilted products from Gee's Bend which is now Internationally Known and still continues to exhibit Galleries and Museum with the help of the next generation of quilters like Claudia Pettway Charley...with their One Of a Kind Style and Artistic Beauty. In taking the world by storm and putting Alabama on the map of Art Culture, Gee's Bend Brand Quilt Tops in the Industry.
