This is My Story: My Kitten Portfolio Through the years, my family and I have fostered dozens of neonatal kittens that were rescued from euthanasia at County shelters, or found orphaned, abandoned, dirty, starving, and homeless. We received many kittens with eyes closed, just days old. We knew that if they had been taken to a city shelter, the baby kittens would have been euthanized upon arrival. We bottle fed them around the clock, and became their mother until they were old enough to be adopted. As much as we became attached to each little kitten, we realized the importance of getting them adopted quickly, to make room to save more. This is how the importance of pet photography for my rescue came to life... As you can imagine, I had numerous photo opportunities while fostering kittens in my home. This allowed me to hone in on my skills and get creative with colorful props and backgrounds. Soon, the rescue noticed my foster kittens were receiving multiple online adoption applications - more than any others. It became obvious, a great online photo could dramatically increase adoptions. Immediately my daughter and I volunteered to photograph our fellow rescue’s foster kittens for their adoption pages. We are proud to say, the rescue organizations adoptions tripled overnight. We wanted to spread the word. In addition, we organized free pet photography workshops to teach rescue volunteers how to take great rescue photos to increase their online adoptions. Please share my story and foster kitten portfolio. Together, we can help raise awareness for the plight of rescue animals and promote animal welfare, care and adoption worldwide.
