Hoopoe Designs is inspired by "The Majestic Bird of Ancient Fable and Myth". The hoopoe is a symbol of purity for Persians. It is a key character in one of Persia's most famous poems, The Conference of the Birds, an allegory which casts the hoopoe as a Sufi master who leads a group of pupils on a pilgrimage to find the God Bird, Simorgh. In the end, thirty birds reach the end of the journey and find that Simorgh, (which literally translated from Persian means 'thirty birds') is Unity achieved by the assembled birds by virtue of their common experiences throughout their journey. This is reminiscent of a piece by Erich Fromm whose interpretation of the word atonement is at-one-ment. Hopefully, Hoopoe Designs can help us to go on a similar Journey of unification through introspection and exploration with those who appreciate our creations and can connect with them.
