I started painting small format watercolors as tokens of affection and affirmation, usually with a personal note inscribed on the back, this year. As I continued, I found that the poinency of birds and other animals strikes a chord with people, even if the gift was not for them. I also love the symbolism and rugged beauty of lighthouses, and try to capture their persistent message that there is hope in any storm.
