According to the U.S. Treasury, the motto "E Pluribus Unum" (Out Of Many, One) was first used on U.S. coinage in 1795. In 1956 during the McCarthy era, a law passed by the 84th U.S. Congress (P.L. 84-140) & approved by President Eisenhower, declared "In God We Trust" must appear on American currency, which first appeared on paper money in 1957, on the one-dollar silver certificate.
This violates the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." It's time to go back to "E Pluribus Unum!" Use this stamp on the back of U.S. currency bills to overwrite "In God We Trust" with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and make this protest statement!
Great for atheists, agnostics, folks who aren't Abrahamic monotheists, and/or anyone who believes in the separation of Church and State.
PLEASE NOTE: usage of this stamp does NOT meet the legal threshold for "defacing currency!" Protest away!
All proceeds from sales will be donated to Americans United for Separation of Church and State and the Freedom From Religion Foundation!
