Aloha and welcome! I grew up on the Big Island, half of the time in windy but homey Waikoloa village and later moved to Hilo side, where it can be sunny for a minute and start pouring out of nowhere in the next moment. My designs are inspired by the natural landscapes, wildlife I grew up seeing and iconic places that bring me nostalgic memories. Each piece I create is carefully thought out, often sketching drafts throughout the day. Sometimes I add small details of very local elements that are not usually seen, for example, rambutan is a fruit that’s pretty local but never seen in designs. I loved this fruit and added it to my fruit pattern design. Whether you’ve experienced the islands firsthand or dream of paradise from afar, I hope my work shares to you a little bit of Hawaiʻi into your heart and home.
