Hello and thank you for visiting my site. I've been writing and recording songs since 1990, and have been reorganizing to make as much of my music available as possible. I usually create songs with acoustic guitar with lyrics that come to me throughout the day and then layer with electric guitar and bass, sometimes keyboards and other psychedelic embellishments. I try to make the finished products have as much variety as I can either by using different recording techniques or digital manipulation during the mixing process. My first tape I completed was "My Brain It Hurts" 001-1990 and had seven tracks. I used a dual cassette recorder with line in input with a splitter to record guitar and vocals first, and then play the tape back while recording in the record side and adding more guitar and backing vocals thru the input jack. This was primitive multitracking but it kept me entertained and creative thru my high school years. The singing was terrible, the guitars barely in tune, and the tone was definately not impressive. I went on to record "Take Me For A Walk" 002-1990 which included the first version of WHEN YOU LEFT. (I later re-recorded this song for "SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET" 038b-2006) WHEN YOU LEFT is one of my earliest acoustic finger-pickers. As time went on I would get better at performing and acquired new recording equipment so re-recording what I believe to be some of my better songs is still an obsession of mine. In 1996 I gained access to a 4-Track and was still regularly writing songs. I found ways to use up all four tracks and sometimes bounce them down so I could then add additional sounds. Also In the mid 90's I actually stopped playing with myself for awhile and was co-songwriter, guitarist, and backing vocalist for the band SOOT GENRE which played many parties and a coffee shop in Old Town Lansing MI. After our main vocalist left to join the Art Train then we tried to keep it together as 80 CUBIC INCHES for a year or so. This didn't develop into much and we never refound the magic that once was. I still remember the dreams that we once shared and 'what could have been'... Of course now with modern computers, mutitrack recording is easier than ever. I use my computer with AUDACITY to record and produce my songs now and to give rebirth to some of my classics. You can multitrack, cut/paste, digitally manipulate sound all at a touch of a button. And the program is free! I've been organizing my DISCOGRAPHY and making songs available for listening, and free download.
