Shadowland Foundation is a non-profit organization in Lake Hughes, CA whose mission is to save wolves - to "Educate not Eradicate." Featuring Takoda (meaning Friend to Everyone) is the Alpha Male of the pack and father to the “six pack." He is an Arctic/Mackenzie with a pitch black father. He epitomizes the qualities of a “leader of the pack” and is a true friend to everyone. Since the birth of his pups he has been nursemaid, babysitter, teacher, playmate and tough disciplinarian. He eats last and shares his food if his pups are still hungry. He has a deep, soulful, irresistible, penetrating howl. Fun wolf facts: The Alpha Female and Male mate for life. The female chooses where she makes her den which means she also chooses the packs territory. She is responsible for the very survival of the pack. Wolves sit in the middle of our ecosystem and protect all living things; in fact they all flourish when wolves are present. Wolves can hear up to 5 miles away. As defensive creatures, they will howl as a warning to let you know you are approaching too close. All proceeds from purchases help care for the pack and our ongoing wolf education and outreach programs.
