Jesse Tree Ornaments

Advent, the four weeks prior to Christmas when we prepare for the coming of the Messiah not as a baby in arms again, but rather for Jesus to be born in our hearts at Christmas. Jesse Tree is the one of the traditions which can help us prepare for the coming of the Messiah as it is an opportunity to see the development of the salvation story from Genesis to the birth of Our Saviour and Messiah Jesus. Jesse Tree is so named because Jesse was King David's father and the Messiah was born into the (Line) House of King David. Jesus is the fulfilment of the promise made by God the Father that King David's sovereignty would last forever! Ultimately, the Jesse Tree helps us prepare properly for Christmas as along with the traditional decorating with ornaments whether the actual Christmas Tree is used or a branch, a good practice is to include a daily reading associated with the ornament added on the day or some other means of reflection such as an appropriate video associated with the day's focus.
