Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial Cystitis (painful bladder syndrome) is a chronic condition that affects your bladder &/or pelvic region ranging from mild discomfort to severe pain. IC can vary from person to person, patients can have IC without experiencing any symptoms, therefore they may not even know they have it. While others may experience moderate to very severe symptoms that can be very debilitating & even have a long lasting impact on their quality of life. Most IC patients experience symptoms such as recurring pelvic pain, pressure, or discomfort in the bladder and pelvic region, urinary frequency (needing to go often) and urgency (feeling a strong need to go). The exact cause of IC is unknown & can go undiagnosed/misdiagnosed for years. There is no cure for IC & treatments are minimal.
