According to the American Kennel Club,"the Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen is a French scent hound. Somewhat active and never high-strung, yet GBGVs are busy dogs who don’t tire easily." Those of us who own them find them to be rather easier to tire out than the AKC might believe, in fact they are often real couch potatoes, but not until after a nice long walk. They are charming and sometimes comical in the house, enjoying lots of attention from people without really having to work for it.
