Cerberus

Three heads lifted on one body. Cerberus stood where the road ended, the guard of the under place, a growl in three throats and none of them the same. People set down what they had been carrying. They left with a cerberus gift in the chest, the sound of being watched from more than one face. It returns in cerberus playing cards that seem to look back, in a cerberus notebook with three lines started and none finished, in a cerberus postcard of the three mouths and the one shadow. The gate stays shut. The heads do not sleep.
