Nuestra historia

The DODOcase philosophy is simple: make things locally and help keep the art of bookbinding alive and well by adapting it to a world of digital devices. Our skilled craftsmen make beautiful products to meet today's modern needs using age-old techniques that need preserving. At our core, DODOcase is a happy marriage of tradition and technology. DODOcase launched alongside the Apple iPad in April 2010 as the original bookbound iPad case, and quickly became a favorite among the tech-savvy, design-sophisticated set worldwide. We create stylish cases and sleeves designed to disguise your portable technology with classic elegance and functionality. Every DODOcase is made by hand in San Francisco and evokes a sensation of eras gone by and detailed craftsmanship with lasting quality. Each DODOcase has its own unique character as it was handmade using techniques developed hundreds of years ago with rich materials and good, old-fashioned hard work. Most recently, DODOcase was inspired by Google Cardboard, announced at the I/O conference, and was quick to act by designing and developing our own version of the viewer and an accompanying app (in beta) to go with it. Since June 26th, DODOcase has sold more than 13,000 units to VR enthusiasts and developers around the world. We strongly believe that the next million VR experiences will happen on mobile devices. The DODOcase Smartphone Virtual Reality Viewer offers support for the mobile VR experience through affordability, accessibility and ease-of-use. Our build-your-own kit costs only $25 and will allow anyone the ability to experience VR. At DODOcase, we foster creativity while protecting inspired human endeavors from extinction. We create a human connection between craftsmen and consumers, and aspire to create unexpected joy and fun. Our growing team of professional woodworkers, bookbinders, sewers and silk screeners share a common vision of striving for excellence and building quality products.
