William Morris: The Trellis Pattern

The delicate "Trellis" pattern was created by the English designers William Morris (1834-1896) and Philip Webb (1831-1915) in 1864. (Mr. Webb designed the bluebirds!) This rendition, a block-printed wallpaper, is now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/384020).
