Spring Time Heart

Olivia was born with a congenital heart defect and Down Syndrome. At three weeks old, through expertise of of the CHOC Heart Institute, she began treatment through a pulmonary artery banding which allowed for her heart to grow large enough for a ventricular septal defect repair. That procedure was a success and when she was a bit older, she also endured another open-heart surgery to repair a mitral valve leak. We are thrilled to report that today, Olivia is a thriving, happy, and fun loving young lady. (Art Mentor: Angie Balius)
