Palapala Kūʻē Series

Among our ancestors who added their signatures to the 1897 petition against American annexation of the Hawaiian Islands, whose signatures we have discovered so far, were Loke Kaʻilikea (wife of Antone V. Marciel, Sr.) in Hāna, Maui, Lydia Nahiwa (wife of John V. Marciel, Sr.) in Kohala ʻĀkau, Hawaiʻi, and Jane Lovstad (mother of Lydia Nahiwa) in Hāmākua, Hawaiʻi. Within our family tree, you will also find the following surnames on the petitions collected in East Maui: Akana, Enos, Helekahi, Kāʻai, Kealoha, Lake, Lono, Wainee.
