Food Banks Save Lives

With support from the federal government for charitable nutrition programs fading, it is up to food banks and food pantries to step in the gap. We the fortunate may not realize that nearly 50 million of us, including almost 14 million children, are food insecure. That’s in the “world’s richest country”, the United States.. A sudden drastic illness or job loss can quickly lead to hunger and despair even among those who normally take care of themselves. Now, more than ever, it is essential to support the food banks and the pantries that stand between so many and starvation.
