Cozy Sweater

My friend Ash bought it at the second-hand store and brought it to me. "It'll look great on you!" He was always bringing me things he'd found in thrift shops and flea markets--things I did not want and had no use for. Things like this sweater. I resolved to throw it away the moment his back was turned, but just to keep the peace and make him stop talking, I tried it on. He was right--it looked great. I looked great in it. It fit me perfectly, the colors complemented my own complexion, the sleeves were (mirabile dictu!) the right length. It went into my bureau, and has been a part of my wardrobe ever since. Sometimes a crazy friend knows you better than you know yourself. Soon I will have to retire it--it's threadbare now, and holes pop open faster than I can mend them. So I did what I do with all the things I love and can't keep forever: I picked up my camera and made a record of it for my photo album. And now, for dishes also. Look for the matching mug, thermal jug, and other tableware.
