Cartwheel Galaxy JWST James Webb Space Telescope

The Cartwheel Galaxy is a stunning right galaxy in the constellation Sculptor, first discovered in 1941. There are actually two rings, with spokes conceding them. This odd configuration is thought to have formed by colliding with another galaxy some 400 hundred million years ago. This image of the Cartwheel Galaxy is a composite of images from the James Webb Space Telescope Near Infrared and Mid Infrared cameras.
