When I think back to when I started making, I remember seeing a picture of a lion made out of yarn glued to a wood board. I asked my mom where it came from. She told me that my oldest sister had made it years earlier. That lion picture is still there in my memory and probably somewhere here in my home. I think that almost every artisan can point to a family member and something from their childhood that inspired them to create. It was years later that I was surprised to learn that 2 of my nephews wanted to be artist after seeing my work hanging on the walls around my families' home. One of them actually went into graphic design and architecture. What we do makes a difference in people's lives. There's something special about being a artisan.
