All Saints COLLECTION (RLS 19)

This antique image from a 1911 book (entitled Red Letter Saints: Being a Series of Biographies of those Saints for which Proper Collects, Epistles and Gospels are appointed in the Book of Common Prayer, p. 72) is used to commemorate the Feast of All Saints. It depicts a scene from the New Testament’s Book of Revelation 4:10-11. Twenty-four elders (all male) present their golden crowns to the Lamb of God (Jesus Christ), worthy to be slain, Who stands atop a cushion above the opened book with seven seals that only He could open. The open pages display the Greek letters alpha and omega, which stand for “the beginning” and “the end.” + Feast: November 1
