My wife and I are fabric artists specializing in batik, an ancient fabric art that uses wax as a resist in a dying process. We learned this art form while working as Peace Corps volunteers in West Africa. We became fascinated with batik and befriended several of the local artists. They showed us their craft and taught us some of their techniques. After returning to the United States we started our own part time craft business and have been perfecting our art for 20 years.. We are inspired by nature and many of our designs are of wildlife, flowers and landscapes. Others have a scientific orientation depicting viruses, insects, neurons and trilobites (an ancient arthropod fossil).
