Pickle Lilly's artist is Yorkshire-born, Cornwall-based Debbie Hudson. She began painting in oils (thick, splodgy clumps of it) several years ago, but soon found a better (and more environmentally friendly) outlet for her talent was in using various types of paint (mixed media) to produce the unique images you see on this site. Every image is someone's favourite.
Although Debbie paints a few fantastical and wholly imaginary images (always colourful), her most prolific subject is living creatures----all types, from insects through birds, fish and reptiles to animals, large and small. Many of Debbie's paintings also have colourful names or titles, such as 'Wrinkly Rhinos'; 'Salt n Pepper'; 'Calmer Chameleon'; 'Mellow Monkey'; 'Crocodile Dreams'; 'Peacock Parade'; 'The Cray Twins'; 'Happy Hippos'; etc. etc. While being easily recognisable as the creature represented, Debbie's art gives a somewhat stylistic portrayal of, and has a very definitive Debbie Hudson take on, each subject.
