Not F4U Corsairs
The aircraft pictured are not F4U Corsairs. They are Douglas SBD Dauntlesses. I'm not sure of what model Dauntless they are, though.

Type of Aircraft.....
Looking at the picture, the appear to be the F4U Corsair, it was a Navy airplane that flew many missions over in the Pacific during WWII. Pappy Boyington led many missions as a Navy rebel. You've got to read up on him. He was quite fearless.

Those planes are first generation fighters designed by a Russian immigrant from a different time when people came here and offered something instead of trying to take from our country......!!!

To be thruthful
I never noticed. I have to also be honest in saying that it doesn't make me sad as much as fill me with a sense of wonder... What different times those were. Simpler in a lot of ways. Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Interesting to look at with the magnifying glass
There's one man's head in the second plane over. Sometimes with these old photos it makes me wonder--who is (or was) that person that is barely visible. Kind of sad at times.
